You may wish to contact your existing insurer to cover you for the car you intend to hire as cover IS NOT included in the price.
You will probably find that by temporarily adding the vehicle to your existing policy, the cost will work out considerably cheaper than arranging
short term cover from an alternative insurer.
However, should your existing insurer not offer this facility, we can suggest comprehensive cover underwritten by Royal & Sun Alliance, and available through Temporary Cover Limited at very competitive rates, for which we have provided a website link in the links page of this site.
To be eligible for this insurance cover, you must meet the following criteria.
- You hold and have held a current full drivers licence for a minimum of twelve months
- You are aged 21 - 69 years (or age 21 - 75 as an additional driver)
- You have no more than 6 penalty points on your licence in the last 3 years
- You have not been disqualified from driving in the last five years
- You have not had more than one fault claim in the last 3 years
- You require cover for a vehicle which you would be permitted to drive using a standard full UK licence
- The vehicle to be covered - has not been modified - has no more than 8 seats in total - and is registered in Great Britain.
- You don't intend or plan to use the vehicle for carrying passengers or goods for hire or reward.
